I was going through some photos and found two photos of my stash when I was cleaning house in 99'. I had so much I needed a box truck. Now 10 years later guess what. You may see another boxtruck style sale at a VW show near you!
Kevin Schmucker is one of Wide5's original members. Temporarily out of VW's here are some pics of Kevin's rides from back in the day. Missing are pics of his squareback which had lots of body mods and innovative ideas for it's time. Kevin........we miss you brother!
Here's Mike's "Dirty Virgin" pre restoration. Slammed on raders it is a clean example of an oval. It has now undergone a full restoration and is sporting a factory rag top.
This car has some history at Wide5. First owned by Mike Hedrick then owned by Bill Dwyer. It endured several incarnations. First OG stocker with minor mods. Then sporting polished fivespokes with an off white interior. In later years it had the black five spokes, brick red interior and matt finish black paint. It had several engine and tranny combos in it from a stock 1600 to 1776cc and finally a 1835 with lot's of tricks. It also ended up with a berg built close ratio tranny. It made many trips to Lakeland dragstrip and was used almost daily.Unfortunatlly it was wrecked one week after it was sold to a new owner. The pan and car was very damaged and only parts could be salvaged. R.I.P. 62!
Alvaro Rodriguez has owned many VW's. Here's a sampling through the years. One of my favorites was this old school inspired 58 with T bars and flames. I also dug the pea green 66 with BRMs and vintage accessories. It was wrecked at Bug Jam by its new owner 5 or so years ago.
